Description

This is a set of four bases and four covers that are used on the ends of the door pulls on ’69 and ’70 Mercury Cougar XR-7.   This is an eight piece set, to complete both (two) doors.  The original parts had a more deeply scratched, or brushed surface on the cover, which may explain why these were so prone to severe pitting and discoloration.  The reproductions will appear smoother and shinier than the originals.  It seems that the process for creating the deep scratched surface that survives chrome plating may be lost to history.
