Description

The overhead console is one of the unique features of the XR-7. Mercury inset alternating blue and red lenses with internally reverse-molded lettering to monitor low fuel, belts, door ajar, and parking brake status. This panel could have fit right in the Gemini space capsule. It is very hard to find an original part that is not extremely pitted, and even harder to disassemble to clean it up for re-chroming To do this part right we had to tool up individual lenses, bulb mounts and mounting clips.
